Remembering.....

I was driving along today and realized that my sweet husband and I met and fell in love 12 years ago this month.  It's a lovely story, one that made me believe in love at first sight,  so I thought I'd share it here.

A friend of mine had a crush on a man that worked at a store and wanted to show me who he was, so we went window shopping.  I was immediately smitten and the chemistry was obvious.  I was panicking tho!  I didn't know if this was "her" man or not.  I talked with him for ages, our eyes locked the entire time.  Finally it was time to go, and as soon as we were out of ear shot I asked if that was him.  She said no - thank god!  and I said right away, "Good cause  I could marry that man".

From that day on I've believed in "Love at first sight" with all of my smitten heart.

And recently my husband confessed that on that day - seconds before I was declaring my plans to marry him, he had peaked his head out the door to watch me walk away :)

This time of year - late fall - the feeling in the air will always remind me of the time when we were falling in love.

  1. Oh this made me smile, especially when he was watching you thinking of marrying him and neither of you knew that. Sighs....

  6. I remember your story from your blog K :) Definitely a sweet story :) It's interesting tho - I remember the exact spot I was standing in town when I realized that I wasn't in love with my oldest's father. ANd the reason is because I was searching the eyes of people as they passed - without even realizing what I was doing. I realized that I was looking for "the one" when I'd thought i was with him already. That was really sad. I met Andrew half a block away from that spot I was standing. Funny hey?
