St. John's Wort Oil
St. John's Wort oil is such a satisfying oil to make because it turns such a lovely red color. Simply pack the flowers into a clean dry jar and pour on the oil until it's an inch or so over the top of the flowers. Then into a sunny spot it goes - and that is the most important part as it needs the sun to extract the good stuff. Sunshine and warmth and soon you have a lovely red oil that is ever so soothing for sore bodies and especially good for nerve damage. We use it often for massaging sore muscles. A friend said it helped relieve the pain from her back disease more than anything else she'd tried. Lovely stuff :) I like to have it in the sun for around 3 weeks - not too long or you're at risk for mold. Then just strain and bottle. SUnshine in a bottle year round :)
